THE TRUSSELL TRUST

The Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of food banks. As well as providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, they campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Over the last two years, the demand for food banks has increased dramatically. At the end of last year, April to Sept 2019 had been the busiest six-month period to date. The coronavirus pandemic then increased demand even further; the need for emergency food parcels increased by 89% in April 2020, and June 2020 was the busiest month on record.

​

We shouldn’t have to live in a world where people are so underserved by the state that they are forced to turn to food banks to survive. This is why I have chosen to support this charity through Claire’s Cookies. For every purchase that’s made, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Trussell Trust, and will help to bring us closer to a future where food banks are no longer needed.
